It's so classic and yet so ???

Love your lists....consider watching the Beowolf with Gerard Butler, that's going to sweeten it up!Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06982753200241942817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6277775467976733660.post-6137969177760843432010-04-28T19:54:32.061-04:002010-04-28T19:54:32.061-04:00I invested in A *Briefer* History of Time, and I a...I invested in A *Briefer* History of Time, and I am still intimidated by it! :-)Stephaniehttp://laughingstars.net/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6277775467976733660.post-3762909729476091622010-04-28T18:03:22.057-04:002010-04-28T18:03:22.057-04:00Well Lily -

It got ditched right away.

I would never read Beowolf... perhaps in audio...

and Stephen Hawkings has a simple version of one if his books I may try at some time.. via audio.. listening is so much easier.

But if you REALLY want to read any of these book I know you can do it! Perhaps all as insomnia cures. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10360453947198770223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6277775467976733660.post-33905406539022751232010-04-28T14:00:35.795-04:002010-04-28T14:00:35.795-04:00Good list! I've read Atlas Shrugged a couple of times but I'll admit to skimming some of the longer philosophical passages. And as for Stephen Hawking ... I'm married to someone with a physics degree so I can just ask him for a summary and leave it at that!Kristen M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02335598194501733541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6277775467976733660.post-25193519895311226942010-04-28T07:59:54.251-04:002010-04-28T07:59:54.251-04:00I agree with your list, but oddly enough, my son l...I agree with your list, but oddly enough, my son loves Beowulf!bermudaonionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10726401178972099557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6277775467976733660.post-33709874632040661322010-04-28T06:36:23.225-04:002010-04-28T06:36:23.225-04:00I have not read any of these so I guess, to me the...I have not read any of these so I guess, to me they'd be a bit intimidating as well...LOL(Diane) Bibliophile By the Seahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10519875632878992728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6277775467976733660.post-78163433465901771282010-04-27T23:20:47.403-04:002010-04-27T23:20:47.403-04:00I am so with you on the last 2. My goodness I admire you reading it in the old English. My teacher played a tape of someone reading it aloud in Old English and it sounded like gibberish to me, LOL!
I read A Brief History of Time and Hawking was pretty good about keeping it simple for the layperson, although at times not quite enough. Great book though.Icedreamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06343443042875160203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6277775467976733660.post-89035582277729526322010-04-27T14:53:33.129-04:002010-04-27T14:53:33.129-04:00Ayn Rand- I understand. I got The Universe in A Nutshell for Christmas when I was 14- the illustrations really do help and it's relatively short.BioPeachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11302958624323518063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6277775467976733660.post-63099730102284676302010-04-27T14:32:50.244-04:002010-04-27T14:32:50.244-04:00Oh, didn´t you know Stephen Hawking was for men on...Oh, didn´t you know Stephen Hawking was for men only? ;)

I did enjoy the edition of Beowulf I read, though, but I am some kind of language nerd.

On the whole I don´t let books intimidate me very often nowadays. If I don´t want to read them I don´t want to read them. Period.Dorte Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14535044092722418173noreply@blogger.com
