Time to be honest.

I have been honored with this award by two wonderful girls whose blogs are quite different but equally interesting and really worth reading: Teddyree from The Eclectic Reader & Sharazad from The Dangerous Pages Review.

The award is for those bloggers who write from the heart. The rules are to pass it along to seven bloggers and then list 10 honest things about myself.

Here's who I'm giving it to:

1. Blodeuedd from Book girl of Mur-y-Castell

2. April from Cafe of Dreams

6. Aarti from B O O K L U S T

7. Dorte from DJs krimiblog

The hardest part is coming. It's time to fess up:

1. Despite loving my current country (United States), I do still miss Poland and get homesick.

2. I am a loner and prefer my own company to the company of other people.

3. About two years ago, I got rid of all my credit cards (I had too many & it got me in trouble) and have been using cash only since.

4. I don't like watching movies, 99% of the time I wait for DVD editions and then borrow them from library if for some ungodly reason I want to watch any. I don't spend money on movies.

5. I absolutely hate exercising, especially jogging.

6. I don't like cooking and avoid it as much as possible even though it has been suggested to me as a therapeutic activity. Cooking does not interest me in any way.

7. I also don't like shopping for clothes. I know exactly what size I am and what I want, so when I go to the store I head straight for what's needed, take it to the register and I'm gone.

8. The point above is partially due to my fear of crowds. I get panicky and anxious with too many people around me.

9. I love summer and hot weather. The hotter, the better. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind if there were no seasons at all (no snow ever is fine by me).

10. I suck at math and am in fact so horrible at it that my ten-year-old daughter can't get any help from me as far as math homework goes (yes, 5th grade math is too much for me).

I'm basking in the glamour of my blogging friends' appreciation!

The past two weeks have been really fruitful in terms of awards. I have been awarded several times by wonderful blogging ladies out there. It's taken me quite some time to share the news but better late than never. Most importantly, I am giving all the girls who've bestowed the awards on me a huge hug and a big, big thank you!

And now on to the awards. Melissa from Melissa's Bookshelf , Blodeuedd from Book girl from Mur-y-Castell and DeSeRt RoSe from DeSeRtRoSe Booklogue awarded me the 'You Don't Say' award which has the cutest panda ever! Thank you girls so much!

"We give and get awards for having a great blog and being a good friend. What I want to award is those people whose comments have meant THE WORLD to me. It takes time to visit a blog and leave a comment ... I wanted to recognize some special bloggers whose comments have made such an impact on me. The “You Don’t Say?” Award is awarded to these special bloggers in hopes that they will pass the award along to 5-10 of their best commenters!"

Here's the thing, I honestly would include these girls on my list of bloggers to get the award if the weren't the ones who gave it to me. they are great commenters and always write something nice. However, I also have a few other wonderful ladies, who appreciate my posts enough to read them and leave comments. Here they are:

1. Drey from drey's library.

2. Bev from Merry Weather

3. Alaine from Queen of Happy Endings

4. Teddyree from The Eclectic Reader

5. Cindy from Cindy's Love of Books

On to the next award. Cathy from Kittling: Books, Alaine from Queen of Happy Endings, DeSeRt RoSe from DeSeRtRoSe BoOkLoGuE and Amy from Passages to the Past awarded me with Friendly Blogger Award. I have to admit that it was a long coveted by me award ;-). The name says it all and I, in return, am giving it to:

1. Cecilia from Epic Rat

2. Jo-Jo from Jo-Jo loves to read!!!

3. Anna from Diary of an Eccentric

4. Blodeuedd from Book girl of Mur-y-Castell

If that wasn't enough lovely Mishel from mis(h)takes gave me the One Lovely Blog award.

And I am passing it on to Smash from Great Books and Fresh Coffee.

And Teddyree from The Eclectic Reader deemed me worthy of receiving the Lemonade Award. Just perfect for the summer.

1) Put the Lemonade Award logo on your blog or post.

2) Nominate at least 10 blogs that show great attitude or gratitude.

3) Link to your nominees within your post.

4) Let the nominees know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.

5) Share the love and link to the person from whom you received your award.

This one is difficult since all the bloggers I got to know show really a great attitude and gratitude. Here are some of them:

1. Cathy from Kittling:Books

2. Shelburns from Write for a Reader

3. Softdrink from Fizzy Thoughts

4. TexasRed from TexasRed Books

5. Beth F. from Beth Fish Reads

6. Diane from Bibliophile by the Sea

And last but not least, Blodeuedd from Book girl of Mur-y-Castell gave me the Your Blog Is Enchanted award. I love Tink on it.

The only requirement for this award is that you shared it with whomever you like, sharing the love is always a good thing. The blog has to show only one characteristic, caring. So, start sharing this enchanted award with five other bloggers. Let your bloggers know they have received this enchanted award. (Remember, fairies are fickle wee things, don't incur their displeasure by ignoring their gift.)

1. Michele from Reader's Respite

2. Melissa from Melissa's Book Shelf

3. Julie from Joyful Days

4. Mishel from mis(h)takes

5. Desert Rose from Desert Rose BookLogue.

6. Teddyree from The Eclectic Reader

Okay, I am overwhelmed by all these awards and greatly humbled actually. I never realized that my blog was liked and appreciated by so many. THANK YOU!

It's a happy day!

I have been honored by wonderful bloggers with not one but two awards. It makes me feel fantastic! You get up one day, you are feeling so so, maybe even a little down, you sit at the computer and "Hey! What is this? Oh, goodness gracious, people like me, they gave me awards!" and that's how you are no longer feeling bad but excited instead. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

First on the list is the wonderful Sisterhood Award which two wonderful ladies decided I deserved to have, Myza from Books And So Many More Books and Evy from Evy's Harlequin Presents. If there is a blogger out there who has not visited these two, you really have to do it because they are two lovely blogs.

So, if that wasn't enough, I got another super award. This time it is the Splash Award. I have seen it on other blogs and I think it is absolutely magical and belongs in a fearie world. And the two bloggers this award came my way from are nothing short of worldly fairies themselves, Melissa from Melissa's Bookshelf and DeSeRt RoSe from DeSeRt RoSe BoOkLoGuE. Thank you ladies. Your blogs are positively bewitching.
What can I say, it is a happy day indeed!

Oh, the glory of it all!

Yep I got more awards and I'm not gonna lie, I am loving it!
I have been awarded the Zombie Chicken Award by Bev from Merry Weather and Smash from Great Books and Fresh Coffee. Both girls are absolutely wonderful and I love their blogs. If there is still such a person that hasn't visited their blogs, it must be done!

Here's what the award's all about:
"The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the zombie chicken - excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggers regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chickens just to be able to read their inspiring words. As a recipient of this world-renowned award, you now have the task of passing it on to at least 5 other worthy bloggers. Do not risk the wrath of the zombie chickens by choosing unwisely or not choosing at all..."

Now, I wouldn't want to even consider knowing what the wrath of zombie chickens is, therefore I am bestowing this award on five awesome bloggers and their blogs:
1. Dani from Reading is like breathing...it must be done (don't you just love the blog name?)
2. Cecilia from the epic rat (this girl is crazy and the award quite suiting)
3. Molly from my cozy book nook (her posts are always so thorough and interesting, it's a pleasure to read them)
4. Softdrink from Fizzy Thoughts (she is too ridiculously funny to not get this particular award)
5. Diane from Bibliophile by the Sea (she always reads such great books, I honestly don't know how she has so much luck)

And if that wasn't enough, Blodeuedd from Book girl of Mur-y-Castell gave me the Proximidade Award. I could not thank her enough, she is a great blogger and of course, so is her blog.

"This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award."

Since I have already been deemed worthy of this award, not once but twice, I did give this award to eight blogger and that list still holds.

I am in absolute heaven!

This is simply incredible! I have been given two awards in the past week and it is beyond my wildest dreams that such a thing could happen.

The first award came from Cathy at Kittling:Books. It's called a Sisterhood Award and the name says it all. Cathy is a wonderful person and blogger, who's supported me from the very beginning, she was one of the very first followers of my blog. If that's not sisterhood, then I don't know what is. Here are the rules to spread the sisterhood spirit:

1. Put the logo on your blog or post.

2. Nominate up to 10 blogs which show great attitude and/or gratitude!

3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.

4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.

5. Remember to link to the person from whom you received your award.

The people I'm nominating are a mixed bunch of bloggers who stuck with me and supported me like Cathy from the beginning and bloggers who are new to me but I already feel a great connection with them and know that they're here for a long run (and since I was never one for following the rules, I nominated 11 bloggers):

1. J. Kaye from J. Kaye's Book Blog
3. Amy from My Friend Amy
5. Bev from Merry Weather
6. Dorte from DJ's krimiblog
7. Drey from drey's library
8. Jo-Jo from Jo-Jo Loves to Read
9. Irish from Ticket To Anywhere
10. Epic Rat at the epic rat
11. DeSeRt RoSe at DeSeRt RoSe BoOkLoGuE

The second award is Proximidade Award I have received from DeSeRt RoSe at DeSeRt RoSe BoOkLoGuE (I love her blog, by the way, you should all go and check it out). It's the second time I've been awarded with this one and it means so much to me. I thank you DeSeRtRoSe.

I am a happy clam today!

Yes, I am happy. I got an award. And what an award too! I had seen my most favorite blogs proudly (and rightly so) displaying this one and I was daydreaming about the day I would get it too. Yes, that was my aspiration: to create a blog that will be liked by other bloggers. Lo' and behold! Lovely Bev from Merry Weather awarded me with this honor and she really made my day!

I know that I am supposed to give this award to seven other bloggers but honestly I love so many more and it would be unjust to award some but skip others. All the blogs that I have listed under "Smart People Read" are truly my favorites that I visit often to get my daily dose of entertainment, intellectual brain activity, humor and knowledge.

Proximidade Award

I have been honored by Amy from Passages to the Past with this wonderful award. Thank you Amy. I really am very happy that you thought of me.

Here's what this award stands for:

"This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award."
And now is the time to announce eight recipients of this award:
Julie from Joyful Days
Beth F. from Beth Fish Reads
Cathy from Kittling: Books
Dorte from DJs krimiblog
Softdrink from Fizzy Thoughts

ENJOY!

Yay! Another Award!

2009 seems to start off pretty well for me. Absolutely crazy Teena from Crazy Book Slut gave me One Lovely Blog award. I am psyched!

I am very happy and really touched that someone thinks that my blog is lovely.

I am supposed to give it to five other blogs but there are many more blogs than 5 that I truly think are lovely and I really don't want to serve myself sleepless nights feeling guilty that I awarded one blog and not the other. I suppose it's a little selfish but really all the blogs on my blogroll are lovely, each of them for different reasons.

My very first award!

J. Kaye (and I know you all know J.Kaye) honored me today by giving me Premio Dardos Award. I am thrilled to get it. It will always have a special place in my heart, along with J. Kaye, as she was kind enough to visit my blog from the beginning. I have known J. Kaye for only a couple of months but she is a wonderful person, she's kind, smart and funny. And I love her blog too!

And now for the award details:

This award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his/her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary and personal values every day.
The rules to follow are:

1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person that has granted the award and his or her blog link.

2) Pass the award to other 15 blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment. Remember to contact each of them to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

The blogs I am awarding (oh, this is so exciting!) are by people from whom I learned a lot about blogging, reading, appreciating life and that it's okay to laugh.
